InvoiceSync/TimerSync Run On Linux using WINE (1 reply)

Greetings,

I have tested both the applications using Kubuntu 8.10 64bit and stock WINE (windows application layer), and both of the programs appear to run as expected.

Here is a screenshot:

Perhaps on your program description you could mention it works (as far as I can tell) on Linux using WINE. TimeSync also correctly runs in the SystemTray and has a functioning right-click context menu.

How much works offline? (1 reply)

I am curious as to whether or not this truly functions "offline". Can I create new invoices offline and sync it up later?

Our shop does not have internet access and I would like to be able to do my invoicing offline on my laptop and have it populate freshbooks when I connect again. I like being able to access Freshbooks wherever I am and my clients being able to go online and see their stuff. I don't know if I want to bring internet into my shop.

Does this make sense?

Printing in invoiceSync? (no replies)

I'm trying to make a priority list for invoiceSync of what should I implement next. I am aware that FreshBooks added some more features in their API that invoiceSync still don’t take advantage of, but I am wondering what are the most needed functions that are missing, maybe not everything that is in the API is a must to get into invoiceSync.

Recently I got this feedback from a potential invoiceSync user:

"A print invoice function would be very useful."

At the time I answered that this would be a lot of work and I am not sure I will be able to implement that, at least not in a feasible time frame. But, now after some time of this idea spinning around I started to believe that it could be achievable. After I added the new Variable fields into timerSync I started to think that this with printing invoices could get solved much easier if the user could create its own invoice in HTML with some variables that I will define and that will be swapped at print time with real values. So, the print function would just take the HTML file template, load the values from the selected invoice and open the default internet browser with newly created file. Then the user could use the browser print functionality (I know, it is not perfect) to print the invoice.

So any comments on this would be great, should I even think in this direction or it would be just a wasted time.
